A reading instruction professional has offered to answer our questions.  We’ll call that our  “Ask the Expert Page.” You can find it here or in the list on the sidebar to the right.

There are a lot of resources available to us, many of which are on the web and free. We have a curated page listing some that might prove useful, and we’re adding to it as need dictates or as something useful comes to our attention.

Now, to the center stage of the forum for the rest of us. To begin with, I’ll  just guess at what topics may be of interest—success stories (no matter how small the victory); problems; miscellaneous concerns; mostly GED issues; and mostly ESL issues.

So here we go! Scroll down ’til you find the topic you want to discuss, and then tell us what you’re thinking. Rules of the road are easy: keep it short and keep it civil.

Success!

Success stories aren’t as common as we’d like, so let’s share the ones we have. Tell us what’s gone right for you, and maybe we can get there, too.

Challenges

We’ve all had our share of them. Perhaps there are solutions out there…or at least sympathy.

Tell us about it here

 Miscellaneous

This is my way of throwing up my hands and saying, “I can’t even guess.” And I’m pretty sure it will be the busiest forum.

What are you thinking about?

ESL

We’ll soon find out if my suspicion ESL and GED classes have issues specific to the nature of the students is correct. If you’ve found some great material for or have some questions pertaining to your ESL students, this is the place for you.

GED

The GED teachers don’t have to worry (so much) about cultural differences in our classes, but we probably face more behavior problems. I don’t know, but if anything gets posted here, we’ll soon find out.
